People first.
Trouble follows.
Unruly Fiction is the home of Suzi Michaels: stories about complicated people and what happens when life puts them under pressure.

We’re interested in the things people want, the things they hide, and the choices they make when those collide. There’s room here for mystery, darkness, warmth and humour—sometimes in the same story.
A human–AI collaboration
Suzi Michaels is a pen name. The fiction is developed through human direction and AI collaboration, including AI-generated prose.
The human author shapes the purpose, makes creative and editorial decisions, and decides what is ready to share. AI contributes to developing, drafting, comparing and editing the work. The human author takes responsibility for what we publish.
Our guiding idea is simple: give characters their own reasons for doing things, and let those reasons matter. The story must hold together, but its people must feel like themselves.
